Required Minimums
In order to open a new account the following minimums are required:

- In order to reactivate an account which has been closed due to having no balance, you must deposit the required minimum.
- Accounts with no balance for more than 45 days will be permanently closed. ____________________________________________________________________________________________

As IB caters to active professional traders and investors, we require that each account generate a minimum of commissions per month. Accounts generating commissions of an amount that is less than the minimum as stated below in any given month will be assessed the difference as a monthly activity fee. Please note that the monthly activity fee may be met solely by commissions and not fees related to third-party assessments such as market data subscriptions or order modification/cancellation fees.
In addition to monthly fee minimums we pass through market data fees from the exchanges for any real-time market data service in which a customer subscribes. Customers choosing to subscribe to US non-professional real-time market data will have the USD 10 (or USD equivalent) monthly market data subscription fee waived if they spend USD 30 (or USD equivalent) or more in commission for the month.

- 3For clients who hold accounts in both segments (IB India account and IBLLC-US account), IB takes into consideration both segments in terms of enforcing activity minimums. For example, if a client generates $15 in commissions in one account and zero in the other, he/she will pay no minimum. If a client generates $11 in commissions total, including 5 in the IB India segment, he/she will incur an additional fee of $4.
Customers requiring a dedicated or FIX connection are subject to the following special connection minimums. These minimums will be applied before the Activity Minimums and will not count in the Activity Minimum calculation. - Special Connection Minimum Examples:
- You use TWS and the API over the Internet, only subscribe to the US Non-pro bundle, and have generated USD 30 in monthly commissions. There will be no activity monthly fee minimum charge because you have met the USD 10 minimum requirement, and US non-pro market data fees are waived for monthly fees of USD 30 or more.
- You use TWS and the API over the Internet, only subscribe to the US non-pro real-time market data bundle and have generated USD 15 in commissions. You have met the monthly activity fee minimum charge requirement and will not be charged any additional fees. However, you will be charged USD 10 for the US non-pro real-time market data bundle because you have not met the USD 30 minimum for this real-time data package.
- You use TWS and the API over the Internet, only subscribe to Hong Kong market data which is free, and have USD 3 in monthly commissions. You will be charged USD 7 to meet your monthly activity fee minimum requirement for the month.
A commission minimum of USD 2,000 (or equivalent) per month will be applied. In addition, a USD 10,000 (or equivalent) upfront deposit will be required that will be applied against commissions during the first five months of business. The USD 2,000 (or equivalent) monthly minimum will be waived during this period.
