If you leave the application without logging out, for example to take a phone call, you have a 20-minute window to reconnect without needing to log in. After 20 minutes you will be logged out of IB TWS.
You can shorten this 20 minute interval to one minute or 10 minutes by selecting Auto Logoutfrom the Configuration screen. Note that you cannot turn off Auto logout.
